Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Salter, Delaney Reach Perfection in Men's Basketball 84-73 Victory at Le Moyne

Syracuse, N.Y. - Isaiah Salter put up his best numbers to-date in a Panther uniform on Wednesday evening as the Adelphi University men's basketball team secured an 84-73 victory against Le Moyne College, to pick up its first Northeast-10 Conference win.

Salter was one of two players to set a new career-high in points, ending with 21 as Andrew Delaney smashed his record from Monday night's win, to finish with 21 as well. While Salter went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line, Delaney was lights out from three-point range, going four-for-four from beyond the arc. Adonis Williams and Ronnie Silva rounded out the quartet with double-figure points, accounting for 12 and 10, respectively.

The Dolphins (3-3, 1-2 NE10) were up one just under four minutes into the game, but a three-point dagger from Williams at 16:17 sent them into a deficit they would never recover from for the remainder of the contest. Delaney's three under the 10 minute mark sparked an 11-2 run in favor of Adelphi, to push their lead into double-digits. The home team managed to work its way back, trailing by a couple of possessions but a few trips to the free throw line fro Chris Coalmon and Aristotelis Sotirou kept their opponents at bay.

Adelphi started the second half on fire, culminating in an 18-2 stretch to give them a 22-point advantage with 16:16 left to play in the frame. Over the next 13 minutes, the Dolphins could not string anything together and got into some foul trouble that sent the Panthers to the free throw line a total of 23 times. All of Salter's makes came in the second half as he also dished out two assists and added two steals.

The Panthers capitalized on Le Moyne's 10 turnovers, scoring 10 points in the process in the second half alone, but the real difference-maker was at the free throw line.

Despite coming within single-digits with just over two minutes remaining in the game, the 'Phins could not overcome their debt, as the Brown and Gold came away with their first road conference victory of the season.

The Panthers are back in Garden City, this Saturday, Dec. 4 when they host American International College. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. following the 1:30 p.m. women's contest.
