Bronxville, N.Y. - On Saturday, the Adelphi University men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss at the hands of No. 16 Concordia College at the Meyers Tennis Center in Bronxville.
The Clippers entered the year as the East's top-ranked program in the ITA Division II preseason regional rankings.
In No. 1 doubles,
Gabriel Balestero and
Sabin Adrian Saveluc came up short in a 6-3 loss to the region's top-ranked tandem of Michele Fenoaltea and Tobias Lentz.
Then, in singles, Balestero fell in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) at the No. 2 flight to Lentz, who is ranked as the No. 9 singles player in the East.
In third singles,
Valentin Le Goupil-Maier went to a tiebreaker with Henry Masters, but lost 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.
Henrique Souza dropped a 6-4, 6-2 straight-set decision to William Nilsson at the No. 5 flight.
