Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University field hockey team posted its second win of the season, thanks in part to a double-overtime goal scored by Jackie Brown, Friday afternoon in non-league action at Motamed Field.

A scoreless game until the last 14 seconds of the second overtime period, Adelphi (2-0) topped Lindenwood (0-1) in sudden death for a win in the last minute, for the second-consecutive game. Brown scrambled for a loose ball in front of the net to score the game-winning goal for the Panthers, marking her second goal in as many days.

The Brown and Gold outshot Lindenwood in the Lions' first game of the season, 7-2, on goal. Despite eight penalty corners for the Panthers, Lindenwood's goalie Mackenzie Litterst logged six saves to hold the home team quiet until the second overtime. Senior Elissa Frein had three shots and rookie Giana McKeough put two on goal.

Panther goalkeeper Angelina Saunders garnered her second win of her rookie campaign with two saves to stonewall the Lions.

Adelphi continues its season this Sunday, Sept. 8, in its first road game of the season, as it takes on Millersville University at 2 p.m.
