Waltham, Mass. - On Saturday, the Adelphi University women's tennis team put on a dominant showing in a 7-0 victory at Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Rieger Tennis Courts on the campus of Brandeis University.
The rout was on from the get-go, as the Panthers (5-1, 5-0 NE10) won all three doubles decisions by 6-0 scorelines.
In singles,
Amanda Franstedt and
Nicole Stay were the first to finish, after 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at the No. 3 and No. 4 flights, respectively.
Barbie Quagliardi and
Nicole Kielan each won 6-1, 6-2 in their individual matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Julia Kielan was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in the sixth-singles position.
Lea Baschanow capped off the impressive day for AU with a 6-3, 6-1 straight-set victory at fifth singles.
Head Coach
Frank Russo and his Adelphi squad will now take their three-match winning streak to North Easton, Mass. for a noon match-up at NE10 rival Stonehill College on Sunday (Sept. 29). The winner will take sole possession of first place in the conference standings.
