Worcester, Mass. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team won for the third time in its past four matches on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Assumption Greyhounds, 6-1.
Adelphi (3-8, 3-4 NE10) swept doubles to lead in the match, and clinched victory by virtue of a 6-3, 6-2 win for
David Robres de Veciana at No.3 singles.
Adelphi won five of the six singles matches overall, and fell short of winning at all flights as
Sabin Adrian Saveluc dropped a tight match in the top spot in a match tiebreak.
Saveluc and
Connor Dove sealed the doubles sweep, however, with a 6-3 win in the top spot.Â
Ilya Kalabukhau led the way by dropping just three games in his win at No. 4 singles, while he and
Finn Krause surrendered just one game to win at No. 3 doubles.Â
Adelphi is back in action on Wednesday, April 17 as it takes on Merrimack College in a 2 p.m. match.
