Oceanside, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team opened spring Northeast-10 Conference play with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of regionally-ranked Southern New Hampshire.
Adelphi (0-6, 0-2 NE10) dropped all three doubles matches by identical 6-2 set scores to lose the doubles point, and surrendered all six singles matches in straight sets to fall to perennial powerhouse SNHU.
Sabin Adrian Saveluc battled in a two-set defeat at No.1 singles to former NE10 Player of the Year Thiago Fernandes, 6-4, 6-2, while
David Leader also squared off in a tight opening set before surrendering a 7-5, 6-2 match at sixth singles.
The Panthers return to action next Saturday, as they host the Dolphins of Le Moyne College in NE10 action at 2 p.m.
