Pleasantville, N.Y. - Using a 15-5 advantage in an overtime period, the Adelphi University men's basketball team picked up their third consecutive win with an 87-77 route of Pace University Saturday afternoon in the Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness & Recreation Center.

Ronnie Silva,
Jack Laffey, and

Denzel Jenoure completed the win with a team-best 10 rebounds ( and a career-high) coupled with eight points, just narrowly missing the double-double.
Pace's Brandon Jacobs
became the newest addition to the record books following his performance on Saturday. With a team-high 12 assists, the sophomore ties the single-season program record with 163 helpers as he also was a double-digit scorer Saturday afternoon. The Setters (15-10, 9-8 NE10) were led by Peyton Wejnert who notched a double-double with 10 rebounds and 19 points.
The contest opened with Adelphi taking charge over the opening 10 minutes of action as they built a lead to as high as seven in the early going, but Pace hung around before eventually tying the game at 19-19. The Setters claimed their first lead of the game with 7:30 left in the half while padding their lead over the remainder of the half, snagging an eight-point advantage off in the closing seconds to lead 44-36 through the opening 20 minutes.
The second half featured a role reversal, as Pace carried their lead through the first 15 minutes out of the locker room before Adelphi regained the advantage with just under six minutes left in regulation. A three from Laffey extended the visitor lead to five before the Setters ended the half on a 7-2 run over the final 3:30 to send the game into overtime tied at 72-all.
The opening of OT went back and forth, but with the score tied at 77 apiece, Silva and Laffey went eight-of-nine on free throw attempts as part of a 10-0 run to snag the 87-77 win.
