11/18/2019 7:09:00 PM

Indianapolis, Ind. - At long last, the 40-team field for the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship was announced in a selection show Monday night, and Adelphi University was awarded the top seed in Super Region I.

The tournament has a revamped look this season, with four Super Regions comprising the bracket. A total of five automatic qualifiers and five at-large bids made up the 10-team field in Super Region I, consisting of representation from the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10), East Coast Conference (ECC), Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and Mountain East Conference (MEC).

The Panthers will earn a bye into the second round and host a first-round game between No. 8 seed Millersville University and No. 9 seed Post University on Thursday (Nov. 21) at Motamed Field at 6 p.m.

Adelphi, which is the top seed in the region for the second year in a row, will meet the winner of that game in a second-round match on Saturday (Nov. 23) at 6 p.m. The Panthers are familiar with both opponents, having played both teams in the regular season. The Brown and Gold defeated Post, 2-1, in its 2019 season opener on Sept. 5 and won a 2-0 decision at Millersville on Oct. 19.

Tickets will be priced at $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and children between the ages of 2-to-12, and $3 for students with valid ID. All children under the age of 2 shall be admitted free, when accompanied by a paying adult.

The advancing team will move onto the third round, where it will face either No. 4 seed Franklin Pierce University or No. 5 seed Wilmington University at the Super Region's highest remaining seed on either Dec. 5 or 6.

The national semifinals and championship will be played on Dec. 12 and 14, respectively, at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa.
