Springfield, Mass. - Riding a five-game win streak, the Adelphi University volleyball team experienced its first Northeast-10 Conference setback, dropping a 3-0 decision to American International College Saturday afternoon at Butova Gymnasium.
The Panthers (9-2, 2-1 NE10) were led by sophomore outside
Sara Mandreja, who accounted for nine kills in the loss. The offense was held to a sub-.100 hitting percentage for the match, as
Grace Wegmann and
Brenna Valsted teamed up to pace the offense with 15 and five assists, respectively.
Adelphi returns to action on Friday (Oct. 11), when they host Flagler College at 5 p.m., as part of a tri-match featuring Molloy College. The Lions will take on Saints following the home match, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
