Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw with Millersville

Garden City, N.Y. - Stephen Megaloudis' strike in the 58th minute helped the Adelphi University men's soccer team earn a 1-1 draw with Millersville University in non-conference action on Motamed Field on Saturday afternoon.

With the Panthers (1-1-1) trailing 1-0 in the second half, the senior tallied his second goal of the young season to help the Brown and Gold earn a draw against its non-league foe.

Millersville's Jacob Gosselin scored off a rebound in the 24th minute which put Adelphi behind early on in the contest.

After back-to-back Adelphi efforts were saved by the Marauders' Darian McCauley, the visiting team scored just about two minutes later as Gosselin put Chase Flickinger's saved shot past Matt Apicella and into the net.

Over the course of 110 minutes, Adelphi held a 17-14 edge in total shots, but both clubs were even in shots on goal. Both keepers totaled six saves in the match, but it was Millersville's McCauley who tallied three of his in the second overtime period to help lead his team to a non-conference draw.

Up next for the Panthers after three non-conference games is their Northeast-10 Conference opener against Stonehill College on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
