North Canton, OH - The Adelphi University program redeemed themselves on the second day of the Cavalier Classic at Walsh University, picking up back-to-back wins before tripping back to New York. 
Sara Bisbe and 
Sara Mandreja both notched double-digit kills on the day, combining for 19 digs through both contests. 
Grace Wegmann was responsible for 50 assists and 
Katarina Warburton accounted for 25 digs over the two wins. 
Adelphi vs. Virginia Union (25-21, 25-17, 25-14)
Behind a set one win at 25-21, the Panthers posted a .469 hitting percentage and 18 kills in the second to secure a 25-17 victory. Mandreja led the team with 10 kills and collectively the Brown and Gold had eight service aces to cruise to 2-0 in the match. 
The VU Panthers held a 5-4 lead in the third set, however a 6-0 run from Adelphi put them back on top. The teams were matched at 9-9 later in the game, but AU prevailed, holding the advantage throughout the remainder of the contest. They scored seven of the final nine points to earn their first win at the tournament. 
Adelphi vs. Bloomsburg (25-20, 25-20, 25-20)
The Panthers outmatched the Huskies in the opening set, smashing 15 kills with no hitting errors to post a season-best .517 hitting percentage. All three sets finished with identical scores with Bloomsburg accounting for more errors in the end to hand Adelphi their second win of the day. 
A 6-1 run in the second put the Panthers ahead by five in the second set however Bloomsburg stormed back to regain the lead at 11-10. Bookmarked with kills from 
McKenna Clawson and Bisbe the momentum quickly shifted and the Brown and Gold battled down the stretch to take a 2-0 advantage in the match. 
Bloomsburg managed a 12-9 advantage in kills in the third but Adelphi had fewer errors and strung together key runs to pull out the win. 
The volleyball team returns to New York to face defending East Coast Conference Champion Molloy College on Wednesday, September 5 in a non-conference matchup at 7:00 p.m.
