Oceanside, N.Y. - From a 3-0 deficit in the match overall, the Adelphi University men's tennis team scored a key Northeast-10 Conference victory over the Franklin Pierce University Ravens, 5-4, on Thursday afternoon at the Point Set Indoor Racquet Club.

Junior Connor Dove delivered the clinching point for Adelphi (3-8, 3-3 NE10) in the match, as he came from a set down to win at No.6 singles. Adelphi, which had dropped all three doubles matches earlier in the afternoon, shone on the singles court and scored four straight sets victories to help secure the comeback victory. 

Freshman Luke Attride-Stirling got the Panthers on the board with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No.5 singles, and wins for David Robres de Veciana and Ilya Kalabukhau followed to level the match at 3-3. Matteo Cannavera's 6-4, 7-5 victory over Roberto Chong at No.1 put the Panthers one match away from clinching, but a three-set win for Franklin Pierce's James Bisazza over Sabin Adrian Saveluc ensured the match would come down to the final flight.

Adelphi plays its final home match of the regular season up next on Saturday, when it hosts the Hawks of Saint Anselm College at 12 p.m. at Point Set. Prior to the match, the team will honor Cannavera as its lone graduatingMatteo Cannaverar> Doubles
