Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Win Streak Snapped at #1 Le Moyne

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's lacrosse team suffered a 10-6 loss at no. 1 Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon, snapping their eight game win streak. The visitors had not felt defeat since their season opener, an 8-9 loss at LIU Post.

Le Moyne (12-0, 8-0 NE10) jumped out to a two-goal lead after the first half, setting the Panthers (8-2, 7-1 NE10) back early at Ted Grant Field.  Dylan Crossan cut the deficit to one with his unassisted goal at 9:03, but the home team was quick to respond with two more to keep their opponent at bay. The Brown and Gold were held to lone goals in both the second and third quarters, coming from Michael Osmundsen and Quintin McKenna

Brendan McDougal, who picked up 13 saves while allowing 10 goals, held the Dolphins to two goals a quarter following the four-goal opener. Mark Andrejack finished 9-14 in the faceoff X with seven ground balls as Philip Brady got in on the action, going nearly perfect at 5-6.

As a team Adelphi fell short in both shots and shots on goal for the game, as they committed three more turnovers than the home team and posted two unsuccessful clears.

Crossan and Osmundsen connected to open the frame and cut the host lead to three, but after trading goals down the stretch Le Moyne still held the upper hand. Nicolas Racalbuto received a pass from Brady that still had the Brown and Gold trailing by three as time was quickly expiring. Several shots down the stretch from either side were unable to fall, but the Dolphins sealed the deal with their last score of the contest to make it a 10-6 decision to remain perfect in 2018 at 12-0 overall.

AU men's lacrosse is back in action on Tuesday, April 17 when they host Bentley University under the lights at Motamed Field. Opening face-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
