Waltham, Mass. -
Kole Pollock is the second Adelphi women's lacrosse player to reach a milestone this month as her first goal in the second half tallied 100 career goals in a 15-4 victory over #20 Bentley Wednesday afternoon.
Leading the charge for Adelphi (12-1, 10-0 NE10) with five points behind four goals and one assist was Pollock as four other players registered two or more goals in the victory.
Beth Ann Pierce was on all sides of the ball as she notched a hat trick, collected four ground balls, won four draw controls and caused two turnovers.
Emma Lemanski earned her 11th straight and was responsible for as many saves, allowing the hosting Falcons (7-3, 6-3 NE10) to score just four times.
Back-to-back goals from
Lena Riportella capped with a shot from Pierce allowed Adelphi to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes. From there, the Panthers went on to score four more goals before any offensive noise from the home team. A lone strike from the Falcons made way for three more unanswered visitor goals to lead into the second half.
With the assist awarded to
Allison Stackpole, her second of the contest, Pollock grabbed her 100th career goal with 22:40 left in regulation. She becomes the 21st player in Adelphi women's lacrosse history to break that threshold and just the seventh to do it in two years or less.
Bentley found more opportunities in the second half to score, taking three more shots than in the first frame and adding three more goals to their side of the scoreboard. Pierce's goal at 21:10 commenced running clock for the remainder of the game, despite attempts to bring the contest back within single digits. Adelphi managed to always stay at or one more than a 10-goal differential, as a final score from
Alison Johnson shut the door to a 15-4 decision.
Head Coach
Pat McCabe and his squad are back on the road for an NE10 stop at Stonehill College on Saturday, April 14. All the action will be live at 1:00 p.m. at
