Pleasantville, N.Y. - Trailing for the first time all season, the 16th-ranked Adelphi University women's soccer team responded in kind for its second Northeast-10 Conference victory of the year at Pace University on Wednesday night, 2-1.

Freshman Alexsis Weiser scored her first goal of the season at the perfect time for Adelphi (3-0, 2-0 NE10) at the 53:57 mark of the second half for what proved to be the game-winner, as she took the rebound off a saved shot from Jeanine Nunez into the net.

The Setters (2-3, 1-1 NE10) scored first in the contest and out-shot Adelphi by a 12-8 margin, including 6-5 in shots on goal. With the Setters' offense helped in part by a 6-2 edge in corner kicks, Isabel Sandstrom proved up to the task and made five saves for her third win of the season in net.

Her final save of the night turned aside a game-tying effort by Victoria Kealy in the 85th minute to preserve the Adelphi win.

Reigning NE10 Player of the Week Nunez scored in her third straight contest to tie the game at 1-1 in the 27th minute, taking a pass from Erica Bleimeyer into the back of the net and past Pace keeper Hayley Pascoal.

The Panthers look to continue their winning ways on the road at Saint Anselm on Saturday, Sept. 16 in a 2 p.m. NE10 contest.
