Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Stifles Saint Michael's, 18-0

Colchester, VT- Behind an eight-point performance from Jacqueline Jahelka, the No. 1 Adelphi University women's lacrosse program cruised to an 18-0 victory against Saint Michael's College Saturday afternoon. The victory improves the Panthers to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in NE10 play as the Purple Knights drop to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in NE10 action.

Jahelka offered a season-high five goals in the win, adding three helpers along the way. Rookie Kole Pollock registered her first hat trick of the year, finishing the contest with four goals and three assists for seven points while five others finished with multiple point performances which included Alison Johnson who chipped in two goals and three assists.

The Panthers dominated the stat sheet as a team as well, scooping up 21 ground balls, causing 15 turnovers and tallying 17 draw controls -- all better than their NE10 opponent.

The Brown and Gold wasted no time getting on the board thanks to back-to-back goals from Casey Zalewski and Jahelka on feeds from Pollock to make it 2-0 within the opening eight minutes of play. It quickly grew to 5-0 after they found the back of the cage three times within a two minute span. Their cushion got bigger as Jahelka's second goal of the game at the 10:04 mark sparked a 4-0 run over the ensuing 1:31 to make it an 8-0 affair. At the conclusion of the half, the Panthers headed into the break up a comfortable 12-0.

Less than a minute into the second, Pollock notched her fourth score of the game on an assist from Johnson. The Panthers' 15th and 16th goals came on man-up opportunities as both Michele Scannell and Johnson found the back of the cage. Allison Schneider capped the dominating victory with the team's final goal at the 3:28 mark.

The top ranked women's lacrosse team is back in action when they host Stonehill College on Tuesday, March 21 at 6pm at Motamed Field.
