Lakewood, N.J. - For the third time in five days, the Adelphi University women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-14) victory with this evening's win coming on the road in non-conference action at Georgian Court.
The Panthers (6-6) were able to manage 47 kills on the evening led by 11 each from
Amanda Borges and
Mandy Stanislovaitis while
Melissa Rigo added 10. As a group, Adelphi accumulated a .374 hitting percentage on 99 attempts while the Lions (3-10) finished the evening on a .172 hitting percentage. Borges and Stanislovaitis also posted seven digs each while
Sierra Crook led the team with 14. Additionally,
Megan Manierski filled her stat line with 38 assists, four kills and five digs.
In addition to her 10 kills, Rigo posted six digs and a team-high three service aces.
Stephanie Milillo added two service aces for both her points on the night while Crook converted one. Defensively at the net,
Madison Canestrari was a part of all six team blocks on the evening with five assists and one solo. Rigo was credited with two blocks assists.
Adelphi registered 19 kills in the first set to pick up the 25-19 win before notching a .452 hitting percentage in the second set behind 16 kills. In the third set, the Panthers needed just 12 kills to secure the 11-point victory.
Looking ahead, the Brown and Gold conclude the 13-match road trip to start the season with a match at Assumption. The Northeast-10 Conference tilt is slated for a 12:00 pm start.

- Rigo was named NE-10 Player of the Week on Monday
- The Panthers first home match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27 against Bridgeport, the 2015 East Region runner-up.
