However, the Brown and Gold kept the offensive pressure up and broke through for a fourth time in the first half when Scannell scored her second goal of the game at the 11:57 mark. That tally opened up the flood gates for the Adelphi offense, kickstarting a run of seven unanswered goals that came to a close in the second half when Keesling net her second of the game to put Adelphi on top, 10-3, with 28 minutes left in the contest.
New Haven finally put a fourth goal past Hayes, but Adelphi responded one more time with back-to-back goals from O'Brien and Keesling less then three minutes apart to take back control of the game, 12-4 with 14:57 remaining. The Chargers showed signs of life down the stretch, closing out the game with four straight goals, but ran out of time, and fell by a 12-8 final.
