Garden City, N.Y. - After a 1-1 tie following the first inning, Felician scored seven unaswered runs to upend the Adelphi University baseball team 8-1 earlier today during non-conference action.
Eight different players tallied a hit for the Golden Falcons (17-15) while Andrew LaMura came away with three RBIs on the day. The Felician pitching staff struck out five batters to keep the Panthers (15-15) off the board after the opening inning.
Robert Vani collected two hits in the effort.
A RBI single from Ralph Caccavale helped Felician score first before the Brown and Gold responded in the first inning as
Michael Stack scored on a
Eric Hassell ground out. From there, the visitors scored three runs in the next innings while adding three more tallies in the sixth and one in the ninth.
Ronnie Grant garnered the game-winning RBI by driving in Jason Polgano in the second inning with a single. A error and a sacrifice fly provided two more runs in the third before a three-run homerun by LaMura pushed the advantage to 7-1 in the sixth. T.J. Greco capped off the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Will Hickey pitched two inning of relief for Adelphi, striking out two and not allowing a hit throughout the fourth and fifth innings. Meanwhile,
Daniel Taggart struck out five in 2.2 innings of work.
Adelphi returns to Northeast-10 Conference Divisional action tomorrow with a trip to Pace for a 3:30 pm first pitch.

- The Panthers remained ninth in the latest NCBWA East Region Poll.
