Garden City, N.Y. -- The Adelphi University women's basketball team never trailed en route to its third straight win on Tuesday night, as the Panthers saw off the Golden Knights of the College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 action inside the Center for Recreation and Sport.
Adelphi (7-2, 5-0 NE10) had a trio of players in double figures, with
Sierra Clark leading the way behind her seventh double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. The senior exploded for 19 points in the second half to race past
Calli Balfour for the team lead, who also totaled 19 points, seven rebounds and a game-high seven steals.

Balfour drove to the hoop for two just 30 seconds into the game to give Adelphi the lead, and she scored 10 of Adelphi's points in the first quarter to establish a 16-8 lead at the close of the first 10 minutes. The Brown and Gold opened the second period on an 8-2 run, in which
Niajah Morgan scored six points, and a trio of three-pointers late in the quarter for
Julia Gnieser and
Natalie Fekula helped to establish a 36-18 lead with 2:22 to go until halftime. The Golden Knights made a small run late, scoring the final five points of the quarter to cut Adelphi's lead to 13 at the half.
A 7-0 run for the visitors late in the third got them as close as 10 points at 45-35, but Adelphi ended the quarter on an 8-0 run over the final 1:30, capped by a corner three from
Fallyn Stephens to end the momentum. The fourth quarter saw Adelphi explode for 27 points, as the combination of Clark and Schrader combined to score 18 to lead the Panthers to another conference victory.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, Dec. 10 when they travel to Pace University for a 1:30 pm NE10 contest.
NOTES

- Balfour's seven steals give her 220 for her Adelphi career, good enough for fifth all-time.
