Syracuse, N.Y. – A final minute goal helped lift host Le Moyne past the Adelphi University men's soccer team 1-0 in double overtime earlier today as part of a Northeast-10 Conference match.
Scoreless for more than 109 minutes, Cal Filtch collected a loose ball in front of the net and put it into the back of the net to help give the Dolphins (4-1/1-1 NE-10) the clutch win. Filtch was set up in front of the net after a corner from Jacob Borssen was initially headed by Jack Ball, a header saved by
Sergio Reyes.
Despite the setback, the Panthers (2-2-1/1-1 NE-10) controlled a 17-7 shot advantage, including a 5-0 margin in the first overtime. However, Le Moyne created a 3-0 benefit in the second extra period. Additionally, the Dolphins finished with an 8-6 corner advantage. Meanwhile, Ben Beaury came up with eight saves to preserve the shutout.
Looking ahead, the Panthers are back on the road for a 7:00 pm contest at Assumption in Worcester, Mass. this Wednesday.
