The Panthers (5-2) fell earlier in the day 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) to Concordia (Ore.).

After a kill from
Bailey Riedel knotted the first set at 20-20, the Cavaliers rallied for five of the last six points to take the opening game 25-21. The Panthers were forced to rally from an 18-14 deficit before falling.
In the second game, the Brown and Gold again came back from a disadvantage to tie the score at 20-20 after originally being down 20-15. A bad set from Concordia allowed Adelphi to tie the score while Riedel followed up with a service ace to take the 21-20 lead. However, the Cavaliers again finished strong by scoring the final four points of the game to win 25-22.
Concordia was able to close out the match in the third set by creating an early lead. Eventually building a lead to as big as six points at 20-14, the Cavaliers finished off the set with the same margin at 25-19 with a service ace from Lindsey Dorsey being the deciding point.
Match Two Mandy Stanislovaitis collected a match-high 23 kills behind a .375 hitting percentage while
McKenna Clawson and
Shelby Stoner each tallied 13.
Megan Manierski paced the offense with 50 assists. The sophomore also added six digs while
Sierra Crook finished her match with 25.
Despite falling behind 20-10 in the first set, the Panthers continued to rally to force the Argos to fight for every point as Stanislovaitis and Clawson combined for 11 kills. However, the lead proved to be large enough as Notre Dame de Namur closed out a 25-22 win.
The Argos were able to build another lead in the second game with the Panthers unable to create any significant turnaround this time. Facing game point at 24-16, the Brown and Gold took advantage of a service error and a kill from Clawson before a service error of their own clinched the win for Notre Dame de Namur.
In third frame, Adelphi was the aggressor early on that allowed for an early 10-4 advantage after a kill from
Bailey Riedel. The Panthers were able to grow the lead to 15-8 before the Argos made a run to cut the deficit to 17-16 with a Kawai Robins-Hardy swing. However, the Brown and Gold never relinquished the lead and finished the game on a Stanilsovaitis kill to force a fourth game.
As Adelphi looked to force a fifth set, the Panthers grabbed the early lead on a service ace from Riedel. The Brown and Gold did not create a sizeable lead until the squad went up 16-11 on a Argos' attack error. Later, a kill from
Stephanie Sokolich gave Adelphi a 24-17 lead that was large enough to be able to hold on to a 25-22 win and force a fifth game.
With comebacks on their mind, Adelphi again opened up the fifth as Riedel struck for a kill to make it 10-3. The rally continued a block from Stoner and Riedel as well as two errors from the Argos completed the comeback.
"That was a really special win for us," said Head Coach Danielle MacKight. "Being down 0-2, it's always tough to comeback. Mentally we were strong enough and made the adjustments needed to complete a tremendous comeback."
