Garden City, NY - For the third time this season, the Adelphi University men's lacrosse team will face Merrimack College. With the season series already split and a ticket to the NCAA Semifinals on the line, Saturday should yet again deliver another special game starting at 4:00 pm on Motamed Field.

DirectionsScouting #2 Adelphi (15-2): Riding a six game winning-streak, the Panthers won the last three of those games in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship to win two road games on the way to the conference title. It was the second straight crown for the Brown and Gold while it also took another overtime game-winner to win the championship as
Connor Duddy followed up this year with the game winner after
Salvatore Tuttle defeated Merrimack last season in the final game. For his efforts,
Joseph Sciara was named the NE-10 Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Championship team by
DJ Mauro and
Tim Daly. Coming into the NCAA Tournament, the Panthers own a 3-2 record again the North Region Field, splitting two earlier games each with Le Moyne and Merrimack.
John English currently sits second in the nation with a 70.6 faceoff percentage while ranking sixth behind 7.29 ground balls per-game. Tuttle is slotted third among the nation's top scorers with 4.76 points per-game.
Scouting #3 Merrimack: The Warriors earned it second ever at-large bid into the field this season and is looking for the program's first NCAA Tournament victory entering Saturday. This is the first appearance for Merrimack since an 11-5 setback to Le Moyne during the 2009 National Semifinal. Sophomore Max Allen ranks fourth nationally in goals per game (3.07), while classmate Tucker Schwarz figures in at 11
th in the country in points per game (4.14). In net ,sophomore Dom Madonna has turned in a fine campaign and ranks fourth nationally in goals-against average (7.06) and third in save percentage (.593). Head Coach Mike Morgan, a Long Island native, is in his eighth season at the helm for the Warriors. Morgan was named an All-American in 2000 at Merrimack when he earned First Team All-Northeast-10 and All-New England honors. That year, he was also named New England Player of the Year. He was a key member of the 2000 squad that captured Merrimack's first Northeast-10 Championship and two ECAC Championships (1999, 2000).
Adelphi vs. Merrimack: The Panthers and Warriros have split the two games played this season, with Adelphi earning the most recent win via a NE-10 Semifinal 17-15 win at Merrimack last Friday. However, Merrimack leads the all-time series 8-5 although the Panthrs have won four of the last meetings dating back to 2013 that includes this year's NE-10 Semifinal and last season NE-10 Championship victories.
What's At Stake: The winner of Adelphi-Merrimack advances to face the winner of
Le Moyne-LIU Post in the NCAA semifinal round to take place next Saturday at the highest remaining seed.
