#1 Women's Lacrosse Streaks Past Southern New Hampshire, 19-8

Danielle Jaycox led the charge with a career-high tying five goals.

Manchester, NH - The top ranked Adelphi University women's lacrosse team overcome a slow start to pump in 19 goals in a 19-8 victory over Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, April 11 in Manchester, New Hampshire. With the win the Panthers remain flawless at 12-0 overall and 9-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Penmen slip to 5-6 and 3-6 in conference. 

Danielle Jaycox and Alexa Froccaro led the offensive charge with five points each, Jaycox on five goals and Froccaro on four goals and an assist. Rachel O'Brien also netted five points on one goal and four helpers, while Jacqueline Jahelka had three points (1G, 2A). 

Ryley Weber had a team-high two caused turnovers and picked up three ground balls, and Felicia Mills took care of the draw, winning 11 on the day. Taylor Hayes picked up her 12th win of the season, making four stops in 57 minutes of action. 

The hosts sandwiched goals around two Panther tallies, keeping the game tied at two all with 19:44 to play. However, the reigning National Champions responded seven minutes later with a goal from Kate Beier that kicked started a run of 14 straight tallies that finished in the second half on a Froccaro goal that came off of an O'Brien feed with 25:27 remaining in the game, 16-2. 

Southern New Hampshire rallied, scoring five straight to cut the margin to nine, 16-7, but back-to-back goals from Casey Zalewski cut the Penmen momentum short and essentially put the game on ice, 18-7 with 9:48 to play on the way to a 19-8 win. 

Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, April 14 when they travel to Pleasantville, New York for a 4:00 pm meeting with Pace University.
