#1 Women's Lacrosse Bounces Bentley, 15-2

Alexa Froccaro led the way with seven points on five goals and two assists.

Garden City, N.Y. - Alexa Froccaro's seven points (5G, 2A) powered the Adelphi women's lacrosse team past Bentley University this afternoon on Motamed Field, 15-2. With the victory the Panthers stay spotless at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Falcons slip to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in conference action.

Both Danielle Jaycox and Jacqueline Jahelka put four points on the board, Jaycox on three goals and an assist and Jahelka on four tallies. Rachel O'Brien (2A), Emily Keesling (2G) and Danielle Montano (1G, 1A) chipped in two points each in the win.

Jahelka and O'Brien led the defensive charge, causing three turnovers each, while Froccaro, Keesling and Kaitlyn Stackpole caused two Bentley turnovers each. Both Felicia Mills and Ryley Weber grabbed three draws, while Jahelka grabbed a game-high six ground balls, followed by Camille Rosellini with four.

Taylor Hayes racked up her eighth win of the season behind, 51 minutes and six stops. Taylor Langston picked up eight minutes of time in net and made four saves.

Adelphi used a three goal run, that started with a Froccaro tally at at the 25:32 mark and ended with a Jaycox goal, to take a 3-0 lead with 23:50 on the clock. Bentley would react with two of the next three goals, cutting the Panther bulge to just two goals, 4-2, with 18:41 remaining in the first half.

However, the Brown and Gold answered back 1:23 later, off the stick of Jahelka, which sparked a half ending 7-0 run, that sent Adelphi into the locker room with a nine goal cushion, 11-2. The second half was all Panthers, as the Brown and Gold defense upped the pressure and the Adelphi offense added four goals to the scoreboard, picking up a 15-2 victory.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, March 28th when they travel to Keene, New Hampshire for a noon meeting with Franklin Pierce.
