New Brunswick, N.J. -- The Adelphi University bowling team closed out weekend play at the FDU New Jersey Jamboree on Saturday and Sunday, and sophomore
Rebecca Gotterbarn led the Panthers with a ninth-place individual finish in the field of 191 bowlers.
After defeats to Valapairso, LIU Brooklyn, Vanderbilt, Sam Houston State and Tulane on Saturday, the Panthers moved into the consolation bracket on Sunday. First up, the Brown and Gold dropped a close decision to Bethune-Cookman, as the Wildcats took four of the seven head-to-head matchups. However, the Panthers came away with a victory in the final match, defeating the Caldwell College Cougars to finish in 21st place.
Individually, Gotterbarn paced the Panthers with a 203.8 average over the course of the weekend for her ninth-place finish, while
Laura Zaugg posted a top 50 finish with a 188.7 average in the 10 matches.
The keglers return to tournament action the weekend of November 21st, as they travel to Millsboro, Del. for the Hawk Classic hosted by the University of Maryland - Eastern Shore.
