North Easton, MA - The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to North Easton, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 10 and took advantage of 31 Stonehill Skyhawk errors in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-23), Northeast-10 victory. With the win the Panthers remain unblemished in the conference at 4-0 and improve to 13-4 overall, while Stonehill falls to 7-9 and 2-4 in Northeast-10 action.
Shelby Stoner and
McKenna Clawson paced the Brown and Gold offense with 11 and 10 kills respectively, while
Megan Manierski racked up 32 set assists.
Sierra Crook led Adelphi's defensive effort with 22 digs, while Clawson chipped in 12.
The Adelphi defense pushed the Panthers over the top in game one, 25-18, holding the hosts to a 0.56 attack percentage and just nine kills The Brown and Gold used their offensive prowess in game two, posting 14 kills and using an attack percentage of 0.268 to secure a 25-21 victory and a two games to none lead.
The Skyhawks took control of the third game, taking a 18-14 lead on a service ace. However, a Stonehill attack error sparked a, 11-5 game ending run from Adelphi, capped by another host attack error, giving the Panthers a 25-23 win and a 3-0 match victory.
Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, October 13 when they welcome Pace University into the Center for Recreation and Sports for a 7:00 pm Northeast-10 Conference contest.
