Bowling Sits Tenth After Day One At Kutztown Invitational

Reading, PA - The Adelphi University women's bowling program opened up 2015 this weekend at the Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pennsylvania at Heister Lanes. The three-day tournament featured a 5-game baker format on day one and continues Saturday and Sunday with traditional match play. 

The team finished day one with a 4-2 overall record, picking up their first four wins of the day and dropping the last two. After defeating University of Alabama at Birmingham and No. 4 Vanderbilt, Adelphi rolled their highest game of the day against Delaware State University, 1095-1024. Their final win of the day came at the hands of Norfolk State University, before dropping the last two matches of the day to Central Missouri and University of Maryland, Eastern Shores.

The team combined for an average score of 196.9 which ranked them tenth out of 27 teams with a total pinfall of 5,907.

Day two features contests against top teams in the nation including Stephen F. Austin and Arkansas State who were ranked ninth and second in the October National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll, respectively.
