Garden City, NY – Four second half goals propelled the Adelphi University women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory in today's season-opener versus Chestnut Hill at Motamed Field.
The Panthers (1-0) generated 43 shots on the day compared to allowing just two for the Griffins (0-1). Adelphi also posted 16 corner kicks.

Despite allowing four goals, senior goalkeeper Samantha Pauls made 17 saves, 12 in the first half for Chestnut Hill.
After a scoreless first half, the Brown and Gold got on the board in the 57th minute on an own goal thanks to a cross from Gomez. She then followed up for the second goal off a feed from Simpson and also helped put Adelphi up 3-0 with an assist to Antonino. Malles concluded the scoring in the 83rd minute with an unassisted strike from a step outside of the box.
The Panthers play the first of two straight games away from Garden City with Tuesday's contest at Wilmington. The game is scheduled for 4:30 pm in Delaware.
