Albany, NY - Two goals 33 seconds apart in the second half erased a 1-0 deficit for Adelphi University in a 2-1 victory at Saint Rose this evening in Northeast-10 Conference action.
The Golden Knights (1-6-1/1-4 NE-10) scored during the 14th minute to open up a 1-0 advantage as Kledis Capollari collected a through ball 12 yards out from Pablo Lajeunesse and finished in the lower left of the net.
Despite trailing at the half, Adelphi (5-3/3-2 NE-10) manufactured four shots compared to just one for Saint Rose, the lone goal of the half.
Playing nearly 50 minutes down 1-0, the Panthers responded in the 63rd minute with two tallies to tie and take the lead.
Caelan Hueber scored the equalizer on the left side of the field off a feed from
Diego Zuniga. Following moments later,
Matt Giaconelli collected a deflection 15 yards out and finished with
Chris Joseph picking up the assist.
Senior keeper
Ahmad Salamah made his lone save of the game in the 88th minute to preserve the lead as Drew Wingate struck on a ball from approximately 25 yards out.
The Panthers held the edge in shots, 12-8, and corners, 5-3. On other side, Saint Rose was penalized with three offside calls. Â
