Box Score Colchester, VT - Two goals within a two-minute span propelled the Adelphi University women's soccer team to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference road victory at Saint Michael's earlier today.
The Panthers (6-0-1, 3-0-1 NE-10) had a narrow 3-2 shot advantage on the Purple Knights (3-5, 2-3 NE-10) in the first period. Adelphi also created two corners while not yielding one, however, were unable to put a tally on the board.
Nearly halfway through the second period, the Brown and Gold managed to put one in the back of the net. Freshman
Jeanine Nunez rebounded a shot off the crossbar from
Donna Liotine to score in the 68th minute. Following in the 70th minute, Nunez picked up the assist on a centered cross to
Monica DiDonato. DiDonato finished in the lower left corner to increase the Adelphi lead.
Senior keeper
Sam Whitney was forced to make just one save to preserve the shutout, her third of the season.
