Garden City, NY - A Le Moyne goal in the 84th minute broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Dolphins to a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference road victory against the Adelphi University men's soccer team on Motamed Field.
Freshman Adam Resetarits played a cross off his head the found its way inside the crossbar to give the Dolphins (5-1/2-1 NE-10) the 2-1 advantage. Senior Zachary McNabb sent the initial cross for the assist.
Le Moyne took the early 1-0 lead towards the end of the first half as senior Trevor Creedon got his forehead on a ball in the air during the 43rd minute. Despite the halftime deficit, Adelphi (4-2/2-1 NE-10) led in shots, 8-3, and corners, 3-0.
The Panthers came out of the halftime break with energy that resulted in a 63rd minute goal from sophomore Calean Hueber. The Dolphin goalkeeper, freshman Ben Beaury, came out of his net to play a ball forward; however, senior
Juan Aguiar found Hueber in the midfield that the sophomore fired in from about 28 yards out to even the score at 1-1.
For the game, the Brown and Gold took 19 shots compared to nine for the Dolphins. Beaury made seven saves in net for the Dolphins while senior
Ahmad Salamah and sophomore
Sergio Reyes each made a save in 45 minutes of action a piece.
