Box Score Manchester, NH – Opening up Northeast-10 Conference action this evening was the Adelphi University women's soccer team at Southern New Hampshire, picking up a 4-0 win. The Panthers (3-0/1-0 NE-10) have scored at least four goals in their first three matches without allowing a goal.
The Panthers scored three first half goals on the way to a 3-0 lead at the break as
Laura Gomez struck for the opener during the 12th minute. In the 26th minute,
Victoria Antonino grew the Adelphi lead to 2-0 before
Christina Dutcher found
Samantha Lanza for the third tally during the 36th minute.
The Brown and Gold created 10 shots during the opening stanza, seven in which were on-goal, while only yielding one to the Penmen (2-1-1/0-1 NE-10). The Panthers also created four corners.
Adelphi again controlled the pace in the second half, allowing just four shots for the Penmen with
Sam Whitney making two saves. Adding insurance in the 88th minute was
Melissa Duarte with a late goal to give the Panthers a 4-0 margin.
The Panthers created a 14-5 shot advantage for the contest to go along with six corners while allowing just one to the Penmen.
The Brown and Gold return to Motamed Field on Wednesday by hosting Southern Connecticut State at 4:00 pm for a conference match.
