Box Score Garden City, N.Y. - Queens College junior pitcher Monique Roberge held the Adelphi University softball team without a hit during today's 5-0 victory in game one of the NCAA East 2 Regional. The regional weekend is being hosted by the Panthers at Janet L. Ficke Field.
Roberge picked up her 16th victory of the season with 7.0 strong innings of hitless softball to go along with five strikeouts. The junior was challenged by just two runners on-base that reached due to errors. In the bottom of the first inning, junior infielder
Victoria Wink reached for the Panthers on a error in the outfield. Meanwhile, sophomore infielder
Jordan Catalano got on base thanks to a Roberge error.
Not only did she have the momentum in the circle, but Roberge helped her own cause from the plate by driving in the first run of the game in the top of the first inning with a single to center to score senior outfielder Cat Pastor. Pastor helped kicked off a four-run fifth inning for the Knights with an RBI single to center. Senior outfielder Melissa Natale drove in the third run followed by a two RBI from none other than Roberge.
Roberge completed her day at the plate by going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Pastor and senior catcher Kaitlyn Crowley each added two hits.

Lindsay Mapes pitched the final 2.1 innings for the Panthers with three strikeouts and no hits.
Looking to day two of the three day regional, Caldwell and Queens will face each other in the winners' bracket at 10:00 am. Meanwhile, Adelphi and Georgian Court square off at 1:00 pm. The winner of the second game will face the loser of the opener in an 3:30 pm start time.
