Box Score 2 Springfield, Mass. – The Adelphi University softball team earned a 2-0 win in the day's finale to split today's doubleheader at American International after the host was victorious 4-1 in the opener.
The Brown and Gold move to a 10-6 Northeast-10 Conference record with a 19-14 overall. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets are 10-19 on the season and 3-9 within the conference.

Jordan Catalano led the team with three hits while senior pitcher
Katie Andrews notched two RBI while hitting a home run and winning game two from the circle with a complete game shutout.
American International initially grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first game thanks to a solo home run from sophomore infielder Jorrdin Miller. However, Andrews was up to the challenge by matching Miller's shot with one of her own in the fourth inning to even the game at 1-1.
In the fifth inning, back-to-back singles resulted in three runs being scored for the Yellow Jackets as they claimed a 4-1 lead that held up after seven innings.
Helping her own cause in the finale, Andrews brought in the first run of the game in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly that scored junior outfielder
Jaclyn Binstock who reached earlier on a single. Catalano scored the second and final run of the game in inning five as freshman infielder
Danielle Cutuli drove a single to center.
Andrews was in the zone from the circle, allowing just two hits throughout her seven innings of work and striking out six.
The series finale is scheduled for tomorrow at 12:00 pm as play continues in Springfield, Mass.
