Classmate Duane Morgan chipped in 15 points and six rebounds while junior Anthony Libroia went 4-for-5 from beyond the arc towards 14 points. The Panthers also held a 34-29 advantage in rebounding.

For the Yellow Jackets, Marcus Porter led four players in double-figures with a game-high 21 points. Porter also added three blocks on the defensive end. Meanwhile, Trahmier Burrell posted 19 points along with three steals as American International accumulated 12 steals on the afternoon to help score 24 points off turnovers.

A 15-6 run at the end of the first half helped the Panthers enter the halftime break with a 41-39 lead that was capped off by Tyler Bennett finding Morgan for a buzzer-beating dunk after Bennett forced the Yellow Jacket turnover with a steal.

American International rallied in the early stages of the first half to claim a seven-point margin on two occasions. However, the Panthers continued to attack by eventually reclaiming the lead at 60-59 with Morgan once again getting inside off the Damon Coleman assist.

Less than two minutes later, Porter pushed the Yellow Jackets ahead at 62-60 for the last lead change of the game. Adelphi got within three points with 25 seconds left after a pair of free throws from Justin Jenkins before American International closed out the game.
