Garden City, NY - Two goals towards the end of the first half was enough for the Adelphi University men's soccer team to defeat Northeast-10 Conference foe Assumption 2-0 earlier this evening on Motamed Field.

Diego Zuniga sent a short pass to the corner of the 18-yard box that Hueber sent inside the right post to put the Panthers (6-4/4-3 NE-10) up 1-0 in the 34th minute. Almost exactly six minutes later, the Brown and Gold utilized the top of the box as senior

Adelphi ended the first half, with an 11-3 advantage in shots as well as a 3-0 lead in corner kicks. The momentum carried into the second period, however, the Panthers were unable to find the back of the net with seven more shots to total 18 in the contest. The attack forced Greyhound (1-7-1/1-4-1 NE-10) goalkeeper Dana King to make seven saves in the match.

The Brown and Gold begin the first of two straight conference road matches on Saturday at 11:00 am, traveling to Colchester, VT for to face the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's.
