Waltham, MA – A scoreless tie was broken in the 99th minute of overtime as the host Bentley Falcons upended the Adelphi University men's soccer team 1-0 in an overtime, Northeast-10 Conference match earlier today.
Nick Hoffman scored the game-winner for the Falcons (4-10-1/4-6-1 NE-10) with less than two minutes left in the first overtime period, striking from six yards out. Hoffman's goal was off the initial shot from Evan Hassett who had just subbed in a minute prior to picking up the assist.
In the effort, the Panthers (9-5-1/7-4 NE-10) controlled a 15-11 advantage in shots while Bentley picked up one more corner, 4-3. Senior

Ahmad Salamah made four saves in more than 98 minutes between the posts while Bentley goalkeeper Jack Blatchford made eight saves towards the shutout.
The Panthers return for the final home this Tuesday with a 7:00 pm match versus Southern Connecticut State, who is ranked seventh in the latest NSCAA Coaches' Poll. The night will also mark this season's "Senior Night," honoring this year's senior class.
