Women's Soccer Scores Twice In Each Half In 4-0 Win At Bentley

The Panthers snapped a three-game skid to win their fourth conference game of the season.

Waltham, MA – The Adelphi University got back on the winning track today with a 4-0 victory at Northeast-10 Conference host Bentley earlier today.

Freshman forward Jeanine Nunez rallied the Panthers (7-3-1/4-3-1 NE-10) early with a goal in the opening five minutes off a feed from Meaghan Simmonds. Just a little more than 20 minutes later, Laura Gomez put the Brown and Gold up 2-0 as Nunez got around the keeper to feed Gomez.

The Panthers doubled its lead in the second half to 4-0 during an eight minute span. Samantha Lanza scored both of the tallies, first in the 58th minute followed by another in the 66th. The first came from Victoria Antonino followed up by Kelsey Simpson assisting on the fourth goal of the game.

The Brown and Gold finished with a 16-6 advantage in shots against the host Falcons (2-10/0-9 NE-10) as well as leading in corner 4-2. Senior keeper Sam Whitney needed to make three saves to preserve the victory.

Adelphi is back on the road this Wednesday with a 4:00 pm match in West Haven, CT to face league foe New Haven.
