Garden City, N.Y. – On Saturday, September 14, the men's soccer team will be hosting the Merrimack College Warriors in their first Northeast-10 matchup in program history at 7pm on Motamed Field. In conjunction with the contest, the squad will be hosting Garden City Soccer Night and are inviting all the youth soccer programs in the area to watch the game.
This is the second year in a row the Panthers will be hosting the event. Last year, they took on the Princeton Tigers and defeated the Ivy League team by a score of 1-0. All youth soccer club team players will have an opportunity to meet with the coaches and players on the field after the game to speak with them and have autographs signed.
Additionally, the men's soccer team will be accepting donations throughout the game that will directly benefit the Ronald McDonald House. A year ago, through the generous donations raised from the Garden City Soccer Night, they were able to personally hand the foundation a check for $1,000 as well as help out at the Ronald McDonald House by preparing meals for nearly 90 people.
The Brown and Gold are currently 1-1 after a season opening 1-0 shutout of Molloy and a 3-2 loss to #8 LIU-Post.
Admission to the game is free for everyone.
Live stats will be available as well as a
webcast of the event.
Twitter updates throughout the game will also be available.
