Indianapolis, IN - The NCAA Division II Softball Committee has selected the 64 teams that will participate in the 2013 NCAA Division II Softball Championship, awarding the Adelphi University softball team the #5 seed in the East Regional. Four teams will participate at each of 16 regional sites in double-elimination tournaments. Regional competition will be held May 10-12

Winners will advance to the super regionals May 17-18. The finals will be held May 23-27 at James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va., and will be hosted by the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the City of Salem.

The fifth seeded Panthers are joined by #1 LIU-Post, #4 New Haven and #8 Dominican in their bracket, with all games being held on the campus of LIU-Post. The other side of the East Regional bracket will be held at Molloy College, the #3 seed in the East. The Lions are joined by #2 Caldwell, #6 Dowling and #7 Southern Connecticut State University.

This is the seventh Division II NCAA Tournament appearance for Adelphi and the second in a row for the Brown and Gold. The Panthers will open up regional play on Friday, May 10 at 3:30 pm against New Haven.
