Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rindge, NH - The 14th ranked Adelphi University softball team finished up their weekend swing through New Hampshire on Sunday, April 7 with a trip to Rindge to face Northeast-10 opponent Franklin Pierce University. The Panthers out hit the Ravens in game one, collecting a 10-2 victory and followed that up with a 6-3 win in game two, improving to 25-7 overall and 18-1 in the conference.

Game One
The first game of the doubleheader opened with two scoreless innings, but in the top of the third Adelphi got back-to-back hits from Amy Caird and Emily Dorko. Heather Salerno followed that up with a two run single, scoring both Caird and Dorko to give Adelphi a 2-0 lead. The Brown and Gold followed that up with three more runs in the top of the fourth. Adelphi's third run crossed home plate on a Raven error, followed by another Salerno two run drive, 5-0.

Franklin Pierce showed signs of life in the bottom of the fifth, getting a two run home run over the wall in center, pulling within three runs, 5-2. However, the Panthers answered with five runs of their own in the top of the sixth, kicked off by a Jeanine Leo drive that left the yard. Another Salerno hit netted Adelphi's seventh run, while a Franklin Pierce error allowed Dorko the opportunity to cross home, 8-2. Elizabeth Lindner closed out the scoring with a two run double to center, making the final margin of victory eight runs, 10-2.

Devon Kelly collected her 11th win of the season after throwing five innings, striking out six and giving up just three hits. Laurin Watts threw one run of relief striking out one, walking one and holding the Ravens scoreless. Salerno led the offense, going 3-4 with five rbi, while Dorko was 2-3 with three runs and an rbi and Victoria Wink and Leo were each 2-4.

Game Two
Adelphi took a two run lead on one swing of Wink's bat in the top of the first, as she smacked a two run home run over the fence in left. The Ravens halved the margin in the bottom of the third, taking advantage of a wild pitch, 2-1.

The Brown and Gold would rally in the top of the fourth, scoring three runs on a Wink double to left, a Franklin Pierce error and a Jaclyn Binstock ground out that gave Wink the chance to scamper home, 5-1. Binstock would drive in another run in the top of the seventh, scoring Dorko to give the Panthers a 7-1 margin with three outs to go.

A Raven two out, two run home run to left would put a scare into Adelphi, but Watts would get a swinging strike out to end the threat and the game in Adelphi's favor, 6-3. Katie Andrews earned her second win of the season, throwing five innings, striking out five, walking seven and giving up just one hit, while Watts struck out two in two innings of relief work.

Dorko and Binstock were both perfect at the plate, going 4-4 and 3-3 respectively, while Dorko scored three runs and Binstock drove in two. Wink was the only other Panther in double digits with two hits and she also drove in three runs and scored two.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, April 10 when they travel to New Haven, Connecticut for a 3:00 pm meeting with Southern Connectict State University.
