Queens, N.Y. - The Adelphi University women's tennis team fell to regional powerhouse Queens College 9-0 on Saturday. The Knights improve to 12-1 while the Panthers fall to 3-3 overall.
Maria Toft and
Bianca Posa battled the region's third-ranked doubles team of Erika Goldsmith and Jennifer Fridman, falling 8-5 in the most tightly-contested of the three doubles matches. Queens took both remaining match by scores of 8-2.
In singles play, Toft and
Joanna Haich each played to 6-3, 6-3 setbacks at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
The Panthers return to play on Monday when they kick off their Florida trip against undefeated Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Michael's College.
