Bowling Opens Season Successfully At Kutztown Baker Invitational

The Adelphi University bowling team went 4-2 in their first tournament hosted by Kutztown University.

The Panthers opened their 2013-2014 campaign going 4-2 at the Kutztown University Baker Invitational.
Kutztown, PA - The Adelphi University women's bowling team kicked off the 2013-2014 going 4-2 in Baker play at the Kutztown University Baker Invitational in Reading, Pennsylvania. Starting the day off slowly, the Panthers dropped the first match of the season to the Hornets of Delaware State University by 37 pins, with a score of 758-721. 

Quickly rebounding, Adelphi picked up it's first win of the year defeating University of Pittsburgh at Bradford with a 196 pin runaway victory, claiming a final score of 738-542. In the third match of the day, Salem International University took an early 23 pin lead that they held through the first three games of the match. The Panthers found a way to turn it around, earning a 689-656 victory. 

Pennsylvania State University-Altoona fell back by 25 pins early in the fourth match of the day which the Brown and Gold took advantage of, claiming a 129 pin victory 749-620. In a close fifth match, Adelphi edged Coppin State University by 25 pins with a final score of 701-676. 

In their last match of the day, the team jumped out to a 31 pin lead, but Norfolk State University fought back and came away with a 27 pin victory, 714-687.

The Panthers return to action on Sunday, October 20 as they participate in the Kutztown University Team Invitational in Reading, PA.
