Springfield, Mass. - The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 19 for a Northeast-10 Conference contest. The Yellow Jackets hung tough, but the Panthers put AIC away, 25-23, 27-25 and 25-13 to pick up the 3-0 win and improve to 11-8 overall and 3-1 in the NE-10.
Shelby Stoner led four Panthers with eight or more kills, registering a team-high 10, while
Kaitlyn DeStefano and
Amanda Borges chipped in nine and
Haley Blunt added eight.
Katie Bryson picked up 33 assists in the three set match and added three service aces, while
Sierra Crook and Blunt reached double figures in digs with 16 and 13 respectively.
Coach's Comments"Any time you pick up a win on the road in this conference, it was a good day," explained Head Coach
Danielle MacKnight. "I'm proud of the character the team showed this afternoon, playing our way back into the second game and using that momentum in the third game."
