Bridgeport, Conn. - The Adelphi University volleyball team traveled to Bridgeport, Connecticut on Thursday, October 17 to take on former East Coast Conference rival Bridgeport. The Panthers fell in straight sets to the Purple Knights, 13-25, 15-25, 22-25, which dropped their record to 10-8 overall, while Bridgeport improves to 8-2.
Amanda Borges and
Shelby Stoner paced the offense with nine and eight kills each, while
Katie Bryson had 26 set assists on the night. Sierra Cook continued her trend of pacing the defense with a team-high 10 digs, while Borges chipped in five digs.
Coach's Comments"Tonight was a tough test against a very strong opponent," Head Coach
Danielle MacKnight stated. "We got better as the match went on and did some positive things at the end of the game that we can build on moving forward."
Up NextAdelphi will travel to Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 19 for a 1:00 pm Northeast-10 Conference meeting with American International College.
