South Easton, MA - The Adelphi University softball team closed out the 2012 regular season with a mark of 22-8, earning the Panthers the #2 seed for the Northeast-10 playoffs. The Southern Connecticut State University softball team won the regular season championship, and as a result, is the top seed in the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Softball Championship.

The championship is scheduled to culminate on Saturday, April 28th.

The Panthers are currently ranked sixth in the latest NCAA East Regional poll, while Southern Connecticut State is currently first, followed by Umass-Lowell in fifth, Assumption in eighth and New Haven in ninth are all in the Northeast-10 playoffs.

The Brown and Gold will open the 2012 Playoffs at home on Tuesday, April 24 at 2:00 pm against seventh seeded University of New Haven.
