Pleasantville, N.Y. – Earlier this afternoon, the #6 men's lacrosse team headed north to take on the Setters of Pace University in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. Adelphi got comfortable due to a 6-0 lead at the half and would go on to score another three while keeping Pace in check. The 10-2 win boosts the Panthers record to 8-2, 4-2 NE-10 while the Setters move to 4-5, 3-2 NE-10.

Kieran Riegel kicked the game off with a goal just 5:47 into the first on a feed from Joe Vitale. Danny Blau scored his only goal of the game just three ticks past the 10 minute mark on an unassisted effort to give Adelphi a 2-0 lead.

Greg Puskuldjian won five of nine faceoffs and made it a 3-0 game just 22 seconds into the second while Jeff Melsopp, on a feed from Blau set Pace back 4-0. Doug Quednau was the next Panther to strike on an unassisted goal.

Vitale then earned his only goal of the game on a dish from Michael Rossi to put the Panthers up 7-0 at the half. Rossi was credited with his second assist when he aided Kevin Kennedy to open the third.

The duo of Mike Ruppert and Matt Mirabito finally got the Setters on the board, breaking the seven goal streak to make it a 7-1 game. They would strike one final time in the reverse roles, but it would be the only offense Pace would see throughout the game.

Anthony Caponi, Rossi and Vinny Coiro put the nail in the coffin with Adelphi's final three goals to seal the deal on their eight win of the season.

All three Panther keepers saw time with Eric Janssen earning the win with eight saves and one goal against while Aidan Bennardo made four saves with one goal allowed and Keith Mcdermott seeing 2:52 of action.

Adelphi Returns to the field on Saturday, April 14 when they travel to Manchester, New Hampshire to take on Southern New Hampshire University in their second of three road games at 1pm.
