Box Score New Haven, CT - The Adelphi University volleyball opened play in the final week of the regular season in New Haven, Connecticut against fellow Northeast-10 Conference member Southern Connecticut State University. The Panthers rolled to a 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-18, 25-22) which gives Adelphi their sixth straight 20 win season and an overall record of 20-10 and a mark of 11-2 in the NE-10.

Chelsea Overholt led the offense with a dominant performance, posting a game-high 20 kills with a hitting percentage of .368, while Kaitlyn DeStefano added 11 and hit a robust .556. Katie Bryson had the Panthers running smoothly on attack with 43 assists, while Bianca Hernandez led all players with 19 digs and Ali Kahen and Bree Popham chipped in nine and eight respectively.

Game one was all Adelphi, as they picked up a 25-15 win on the back of a 14-3 opening run that the Owls could not recover from. The second game was tighter then the first, as the Panthers held just a two point advantage, 12-10, near the midway point, but used a 6-2 spurt to grab control of the set, 18-12. Adelphi would out score Southern Connecticut, by one, 7-6 over the final points of game two, capped by an Emily Dorko kill, that secured a 25-18 victory and a 2-0 lead in the match.

The third stanza was a back and forth affair that was tied at 20 apiece on an Adelphi miscue. However, an Overholt kill broke Southern Connecticut's serve, giving the Panthers a one point lead and service. From there the Panthers doubled up the Owls, 4-2, ending the contest with a block from DeStefano and Overholt, 25-22.

Adelphi will return to action on Friday, November 9 when they play host to Saint Anselm in the second to last game of the regular season at 7:00 pm in the Center for Recreation and Sports.
