NEC Event #1 Day 2 Stats
Reading, Pa. - The Adelphi University women's bowling team bounced back with a strong 3-1 showing in the second day of the first Northeast Conference Event of the season to take fourth place at the tournament hosted by Kutztown University. The Panthers now stand 25-7 overall after going 5-4 over two days of NEC competition.
The Panthers began the day with the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson University. The Knights has four stellar performances and clinched a 106 pin victory, 1056-950, despite standout efforts by
Samantha Morlack (229) and
Michele Fitzpatrick (211).
Adelphi then faced the Blackbirds of LIU and saw
Holly Zink (235), Fitzpatrick (211) and
Erica Schneider (203) lift the squad to a 64 pin win, 1013-947.
The ladies then defeated the defending NEC Champions Sacred Heart University by a close 150pin margin, 1028-1013. Along the way,
Kathryn Rivera and Zink both fired 224-pin stunners and Morlack added a sparkling 213 effort.
The final match of the day against St. Francis University came with some exciting moments as Morlack (256) and Schneider (245) spearheaded a 99-pin win, 1026-927.
The Panthers return to play this Friday at the UMES Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Del.
